FARMINGTON — The Farmington Founders Festival is taking over downtown this weekend.

The festival, which celebrates the founding of Greater Farmington nearly 200 years ago, includes a parade, activities for kids, plenty to eat, opportunities to shop and even a chance for the family dog to show off his or her skills.People can join in the fun in downtown Farmington through Saturday. Most of the festival happens around Riley Park, 33113 Grand River Ave.

Fans of the city’s weekly Saturday farmers market, which normally happens downtown, can still get their fresh produce this weekend at Farmington High School, 32000 Shiawassee Road.
