Farmington – Raven Crow Contest

We’re pleased to announce the return of the Grand Raven Festival’s Ravencrow Contest, where raven themed-scarecrows inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven will happily haunt Downtown Farmington throughout the month of October.

Key Dates:
- Register by September 24th
- Community Ravencrows – set up your Raven at RileyPark on Wednesday September 25th at 6pm.
- Ravencrow contest winners will be announced the week of Halloween.
- All participants must take down their Ravencrow on Monday, November 4th by 5pm.
Rules:
All Ravencrow “scarecrows” must incorporate a raven theme. There will be two categories of entrants:
- Residents of Farmington and Surrounding Communities, with Ravencrows for display in and around Riley Park.
- Downtown Farmington Merchants, with Ravencrows for display at downtown storefronts.
Ravencrows must be in good taste and appropriate for viewing by the public and families. Must be absent of adult, political and religious themes. No violent, gruesome or bloody entries will be accepted.
The GrandRaven Committee will make every effort to ensure that each entrant is provided a designated location to secure each Ravencrow upright (light poles, etc.) Ravencrows must be designed and constructed by each entrant to stand upright and be safely secured to withstand all weather conditions. Ravencrows should incorporate some element of hay stuffing.
PLEASE BRING: Twine & scissors with you to help secure your Ravencrow in position to be displayed.

Your Ravencrow will be eligible to win the following categories.
1. Poe’s Choice (Most Raventastic)/Mayor’s Choice Award
2. People’s Choice Award- Vote with Facebook likes/love.
